How do I structure my days?

Well, this answer could vary depending on which prison level of security. Virginia Department of Corrections has several security levels, ranging from high level 6 to low level 1. The lower the level grants more movement. But not to stretch the conversation, I will explain my current day at Dillwyn Correctional Center, a level 2 medium security facility.
I structure my day around completing my set out agenda, and that is to learn new skills while I practice and sharpen the ones I possess. In the morning I report to the prison's law library. My job requires that I provide assistance to the patrons. Before we begin I explain that I am a paralegal. This means I am not allowed to give legal advice, and encourage them to seek counsel. However, I help them with legal research, answer legal questions, and draft motion and petitions. I took a paralegal course, so I am sharpening these skills.

Also, I organize events like book clubs, intramural basketball games, table top games, and peer support groups. Each day is different. I might be facilitating book club, and then jump into referee jersey to call a basketball game. My reward comes from the peace and happiness on the faces of which I provided the necessary space for. Organizing events is just another level after organizing one's life. The question I ask myself "Have I out grown prison?"
Every event I organized, I have participated. I've read and discussed a wide range of books, wrote essays, and poetry. I find time to exercise my body with sports as well as my mind. It is important to realize that time management is how I am able to handle my business of being productive. Success, always follows.
