My Soul Yearns

My soul yearns

in hope to find

its reflection:

a woman with wisdom

a couple of millenniums

older than her age,

sound judgement

in dire situations

that echo fortitude.

She possesses

an unbreakable nexus

of fidelity and sincerity,

to know

what she breathe for

and overstand it.

I choose

oneness of mind and body,

a black Madonna, Isis

dignity glowing above her shoulders

like a halo

where the discipline

in her upbringing

unfold the bold elegance

of her persona.
